TEST CENTER
Oxford College English Training Centre
The purpose of establishing this center is to provide students to pass Language Proficiency tests such as TOEFL and IELTS. Language is one of the difficult tasks Chinese students must capture. Our school has experienced instructors to provide students with English language training during extra curriculum hours on Saturday and Sunday to help students pass the language test before the university application deadline to meet the admission requirement.
IELTS- International English Language Test System
The International English Language Testing system (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration and is recognized as an authentic English ability test method since 1989.
There are 2 versions of IELTS, IELTS Academic and IELTS General to support those who want to apply for postgraduate education in an English Speaking country and to those who want to immigrate respectively. IELTS exam assesses four key English language skills—reading, writing, listening and speaking, and the total points is 9. In 2012, there are more than 3000 institutions which accepted IELTS as their language admission in the United States, including IVY and those universities ranked top 100. As of 2012, there are more than 10 million students who applied US institutions with IELTS results. IELTS is 100% accepted by institutions in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada and is a Certificate of language competence of national technical Immigration stream and visa application. IELTS is the only recognized language test in Student Partner Program (SPP) and Study Direct Stream (SDS). As of 2014, there are more than 8000 institutions, government departments and career institutions in over 180 countries accepting IELTS results.
Our school deems it a great honor to be recognized as a trusted test site by official IELTS authorities in year 2010 and our students can easily participate in the IELTS training courses offered at school and take the exam directly. Compared to those unfamiliar test sites, our students take the advantages of the timing, geographical convenience, and human conditions to perform better in the examination and achieve higher marks.
iBT TOEFL
TOEFL Test Format
The purpose of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. The scores are required for purposes of admission by more than 2,400 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
What Is The Test Format?
“The TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four language skills that are important for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The test helps students demonstrate that they have the English skills needed for success.
TOEFL iBT emphasizes integrated skills and provides better information to institutions about students' ability to communicate in an academic setting and their readiness for academic coursework. With Internet-based testing, ETS can capture speech and score responses in a standardized manner. Online registration and online score reporting make it easier for students to register for TOEFL iBT and receive their test scores.
TOEFL iBT was introduced in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Puerto Rico in 2005. The second phase of the rollout began on March 25, 2006, when test centers in selected cities in Africa, the Americas, Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, and North Africa offered TOEFL iBT for the first time.
Most people take the TOEFL test as a prerequisite for admission into colleges and universities where English is used or required. In addition, many government, licensing, and certification agencies and exchange and scholarship programs use TOEFL scores to evaluate the English proficiency of people for whom English is not their native language.”
